Microstation MS_REF_NEWLEVELDISPLAY

This isn't quite as straight forward as it seems. If you add the variable mid project, there is a danger that lots of levels will be turned on automatically. In reality , if you are using the save Settings Automatically setting you shouldn't have a problem.

Once added to the configuration file any new levels used or added will automatically appear as ON instead of OFF.

Converting video and cine films to DVD or DVAVI

Colin at Video99 offers the service for conversion to DVD. However DVD is fine for viewing but is not ideal for editing because it is compressed. It is better to get them transferred to DVAVI file format which is the same file type as a lot of digital cameras.

Don't trust BBC video to play in your presentations?

Its a right old pain finding lots of useful video and then having to rely on an internet connection to show others or to use in a full screen presentation.

You can always download flvrecorder instead. Its a nice simple recorder for ripping streamed flv files. Just choose the connection that you use to connect to the internet (wireless or you network card usually) hit record, then play the BBC news article in a web browser.

The recorder will locate your streaming video and save it to a flv file usually located in c:\flvrecordings\. Its a breeze but have to say I have no idea on the legality of this at the moment as these are the property of the BBC.

Free for a month and $35 to buy or $15.95 for a one year licence!

Of course only some of the items on the BBC website are flv files. Other items that play in BBC Media Player can be downloaded using RealPlayer. Play the media file and you'll find a button somewhere on the media player named Download Video. However, this will create a .rm file which to play in anything else apart from RealPlayer. To convert it to something you can use in PowerPoint use:
